Splashed dripped smeared beautiful ugly - Totally abstract painting
When I want to paint 'feelings' or just want to paint subjects that are 'out there' I put on my abstract painter cap. Any other time I work as a photorealist painter. So the work on this website is all about feelings and really strange things - like aliens. It's not too hard to do this kind of abstract painting, there's no right or wrong way. There's no actual subject form to get wrong and as such if the viewer sees a landscape of a field of cows when I've called it a group of BMX racing dudes then the viewer is 100% correct. It's his or her call. I hope that the viewer can also see that maybe my choice of color, forms or composition lends itself to my take on the painting being credible.
The subject matter has been arranged into various galleries - flowers, crowds, emotions, violence and landscapes.
I like doing these wild and chaotic images - the splashed, dripped and smeared paint in it's variety of colors can be manipulated to create something that's both beautiful and ugly.
